As a white man, many times, I feel that the U.S. government should just count Spanish people as part of the African American community. Spanish people are an extension of the African diaspora since LATAM received most of the slaves from the slave trade; we only received around 4%. There are A LOT more Black people in LATAM than here in the U.S.. All Spanish people are by default mixed with African ancestry, even the Spaniards since the Moors ruled Spain for 800 yrs. I feel that Spanish people should petition to become a part of the Black American community. Black & Brown has been through thick & thin. You guys would be the most influential community!
