you know, in the 50's they did live tv. I've read that the good part didn't really go out on tv. maybe that's why it was fuzzy looking. who knows? it's still funny to me.

When I was growing up, I thought this was an urban legend.

Have had this in my faves for years.  So glad that others remember him as fondly.

Don't know why it took me this long to try to find this here.  At least we get some idea of what happened.  Also famous for his joke about the couple at the baseball game, where he kissed her between the strikes and she kissed him between the balls.

Always was a big fan of Soupy.  He was from the Detroit area.  Nice to see this, funny.

To really appreciate the clip one has to remember watching the show. I used to watch in the afternoons after getting home from school (about 4 pm) and always wondered what Soupy saw when the scream occurred. Great show and Soupy got away with a lot of things on television for a supposed kids show.

man, that was so cool, seeing my man Soup after all these years! I heard that he started his career as a burlesque comic but can't imagine how he ever made it to TV. I was a kid in front of the TV in NYC when he did the Christmas joke telling kids to go get Dad's wallet & take out all the green colored pieces of paper to send to him. I knew that wouldn't fly seeing as how I'd already been caught once, but man that was so funny. Thanks man.
